Comcast asked us to imagine a refresh of X1 — Comcast's entertainment hub — so they could better compete with
Apple TV, Netflix, and Roku.
We redesigned the X1 logo to represent the three services offered (streaming, dvr and mobile) converging in one place.
Each of X1’s patterns mimic the idea of a transmission signal. They pass around, in between, and through everything else. The "slash" from the whitespace in X1's logo is also used as pattern on occasion.
X1’s existing colors were changed to better reflect its energy. The blue is electric and vibrant, and red was introduced to show excitement and strength.
Vector Imagery was created to replace some of the current photography, and give a clean, geometric, and modern look.
The Graphic Styling uses the slash to the explore different features of X1. This styling would be the basis for posters, wall graphics and animated explanations.
